H1N1 Swine Flu ProtectionThe new H1N1 swine flu virus is highly contagious and is spread by cough and sneeze droplets which can spread about one Metre (3ft). If you are very close you might breathe them in. Recommendation: Protect mouth, nose and eyes. FFP3 disposable respirators give the best respiratory protection for health care workers – better than surgical masks. The flu virus can live on hard surfaces for up to 24 hours and soft surfaces for around 20 minutes. If you touch these surfaces and touch your face, the virus can enter your system. Recommendation: Wash hands regularly. Frequently clean hard surfaces such as door handles.
